It was great to attend Woolgoolga Surf Club’s presentation night last weekend.
Our volunteer lifesavers do a great job keeping our community safe.
I would to congratulate all of the award winners, including those who have clocked up more than 10 years of patrolling.
In particular I would like to congratulate the club’s Life Saver of the Year-Dave Tierney, the winner of the Encouragement award Yasmine Ruttiman and Rookie of the year Taylar Briley.
Well done.

Local schools will receive more Federal Government funding under our Gonski-backed needs-based funding model.
Woolgoolga High, Woolgoolga Public and St Francis Xavier will receive an extra combined
$17 million from the Federal Government over the next ten years.
This is great news for our students who will now benefit from a genuine needs-based funding model.

The Federal Government has recouped $340 million in taxes owed by US-based giant Chevron.
This is a great win in the Government’s crackdown on multi-national tax avoidance
As Chairman of the Tax and Revenue Committee this is a major focus of mine.
We need to ensure that multi-nationals pay their fair share of tax here in Australia so that we can continue to afford vital infrastructure and services.
