It was great to visit Modanville Public School recently to talk to the Year 5 and 6 students.
They asked great questions about my role as a Member of Parliament.
They are visiting Canberra in a few weeks.

I recently announced more nest boxes will be installed on the Pacific Highway between Richmond River and Pimlico as the duplication of the highway continues.
Almost 250 nest boxes have already been installed along the Halfway Creek to Glenugie section, and are now home to a range of wildlife including possums, gliders and birds.
Sixty new nest boxes will be installed prior to vegetation clearing, to help mitigate the loss of tree habitats.
Around 700 nest boxes in total are being installed between Glenugie and Ballina as part of a range of measures aimed at ensuring the highest level of biodiversity protection.

As we continue to recover from the flood, it’s important to look at what we can do to support our local businesses.
I am a member of the new Lismore Business Flood Recovery Taskforce whose job it is to help businesses open their doors and restart trading. This includes bringing shoppers and visitors back into the CBD.
Importantly, the central focus of the taskforce is ensuring businesses are better prepared for any future flood.
