I have launched a community petition calling on Lismore City Council to immediately reverse its decision to knock back the $90 million investment in the Lismore Square.
If Lismore is to retain its status as a Regional City we must embrace investments like this.

This week I presented 12 local young sporting champions with Awards and a $500 cheque to help them on their way.
I would like to congratulate Gabriella Hill, Tylah Crabtree, Zali Hill, Jacob Yourell, Lachlan Offley, Joshua Stothard, Thomas Farragher, Toby Barlow, Lauren McDonald, Georgie Andrews-Engle, Skyla Davis and McKinley Arnison.
Those who received the awards have excelled themselves representing the Northern Rivers at either a state, national or international level. I congratulate them all on a wonderful achievement.

It was great to open the Friends of the Koala’s new $170,000 Burribi Education and Administration Centre last week.
This is a terrific project that will increase the number of tourists visiting Lismore and allow the Friends of the Koala to deliver more educational information about koalas to more groups.
It was funded partially by the Federal Government, Friends of the Koala and private donors.

The rescheduled Piazza in the Park is on this Sunday at Spinks Park.
This is a great family day out celebrating local Italian heritage and the connection between Lismore and the northern Italian city of Conegliano.
As usual, there will be great entertainment from choirs to accordions, fabulous Italian cuisine, food stalls, Italian themed merchandise, a display of Italian cars and bikes, competitions and Italian conversation so people can actively embrace the culture, food, and art of Italy in Spinks Park.
