I HOPE everyone had a good Christmas and New Year. Businesses in town were telling me they were busy which is great.
I would particularly like to thank all of our workers and volunteers who gave their time over the Christmas period.

WE HAVE just announced a new policy which is going to make it easier for students finishing Year 12 to get the Independent Youth Allowance.
You can now work over a 14 month period and earn $24,042 and be considered independent for Youth Allowance or ABSTUDY Living Allowance.
From January 2017, the Assistance for Isolated Children (AIC) Additional Boarding Allowance will increase by 50 per cent.
This is a great change for regional students.
