Kyogle Golf Club wanted to upgrade the putting area on the course. This would allow them to hold putting competitions and attract more golfers to the Club.
Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan secured funding and today inspected the completed project.
“It is fantastic to see this finished project today,” Mr Hogan said.
“The area is now larger so there is the possibility of running events like putting competitions which attract more people to the game and to the club.”
“Kyogle Council have also allocated funding from a Federal Government Bushfire Recovery grant to assist the Golf Club.”
Kyogle Golf Club president Col Griffiths said they were very thankful to receive the grant.
“We have replaced the practice putting area and also established a nursery,” he said.
“We have been putting up with bare patches along the course and with a nursery we can cut out a block of grass and fix the patches straight away.
“We will also have a course irrigation system where we won’t need to use the town supply.
“This will save on excess water rates.”
