Lismore Veterans’ office closed
Veterans have turned up to our local Veteran Access Network office to find the office is closed.
No proper consultation with local veterans. No notification to local RSL’s or advocacy organisations. No advertising to make sure veterans knew where to go.
For the Veterans’ Affairs Minister, Matt Keogh, to make a significant change to a service relied on by veterans without properly communicating with the very people affected is not good enough.
The services are apparently going to be offered at Services Australia.
Our veterans deserve respect, clear communication and certainty when accessing the support and services they have earned.
I am calling on Minister Matt Keogh to explain why local veterans and advocacy organisations were left in the dark.
