Brown & Hurley celebrates 80 years
Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan said it was a privilege to MC Brown & Hurley’s 80th anniversary celebrations and recognise the Brown and Hurley families past and present, staff, customers and the wider community.
Founded by Alan Brown and Jack Hurley after they returned from World War II, Brown & Hurley has grown from a small bike shop into one of Australia’s leading truck dealerships and the No. 1 Kenworth distributor nationally.
Brown & Hurley now sells around one in every four Kenworth trucks sold in Australia. A proud milestone came when Jim “JJ” Hurley was handed the keys to the 70,000th Kenworth truck manufactured in Australia. Mr Hogan joined the Brown and Hurley families in Melbourne for the occasion.
“Brown & Hurley is a great Kyogle success story, a great trucking story and a great Australian story,” Mr Hogan said.
“Generations of local families have worked for Brown & Hurley, and they have continued to give back through their support of local sporting clubs, charities and community organisations.”
“Their motto, ‘Principles before profit’, says a lot about why they have been so successful. Congratulations on 80 fantastic years and thank you for everything you have given to our community.”
