Kyogle Council received a $1.3 million Federal Government grant to assist with bushfire recovery. Council has distributed this through various businesses and community organisations.
Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan today joined Kyogle Council Mayor Danielle Mulholland to announce two recipients in Kyogle.
Mr Hogan said the funds were provided to Council to assist with the local-led recovery efforts.
“$25,000 will be provided to replace almost 500 metres of boundary fencing at Kyogle Showgrounds,” he said.
“$19,000 will assist the Kyogle Track and Trail Bike Club to reconstruct damaged trails, install new trails, signage and new seating options.”
“This funding will provide much needed economic stimulus to our businesses and organisations.”
“I would like to congratulate Kyogle Council on the way they have distributed the money.”
Cr Mulholland said the funding will allow our community to rebuild and bring tourism back to the area.
“The bushfires not only physically damaged much of the area, but also had a large economic impact on businesses,” she said.
