Volunteers who give their time freely play an important role in our community
It was great to announce grants to help volunteers at Casino and District Family History Group ($4530), Coraki Community Radio ($4500), Richmond Valley Council ($2525), Evans Head-Casino Surf Lifesaving Club ($1987), the Pacific Coast Railway Society ($5000), Mid-Richmond Neighbourhood Centre ($5000), Casino Community Men’s Shed ($1688), Woodburn-Evans Head & District Orchid & Foliage Society ($1000), Rotary Club of Casino ($4000), Evans River K-12 School P&C ($2605), Uniting Care Casino Transport ($5000), Tabulam Public School P&C ($1700), Keeping our Freedom Youth Indigenous Corp ($5000), Burabi Aboriginal Corp ($5000) and Collins Creek Public Hall Reserve Trust ($1228).
The grants are to purchase equipment to help the volunteers do their work.

I’m looking forward to officially open the new Federal Government funded $1 million Trade Skills Centre at Evans River K-12 Community School this month.
Focusing on hospitality, the new centre will help make sure students are job ready.

I opened the new $4.7 million Djanangmum Health Clinic recently.
This is to meet the primary health needs of the Indigenous community of the Richmond Valley.
