It was another great Beef Week this year when Casino once again stamped itself as the country’s beef capital.
I would like to congratulate the Beef Week Committee lead by Stuart George and all the volunteers who helped out, as well as the local businesses that took part.
In the run-up to Beef Week I handed over a $1 million cheque to the committee to help it promote the beef industry in our community and across the country.

Tenders are now being called to build a new mobile phone base station to fix the poor reception in North Casino, as well as Yorklea and Kyogle.
Our community has done well out of the Governments Mobile Blackspot Program.
About 100 mobile blackspots were identified across our community and all of them will be fixed over the next 18 months. Five new base stations are already active, 21 more will come online over the next year-and-a-half.
