It was great to catch up with Year 6 students from St Mary’s Public School while they were visiting Parliament last week.
They asked some great questions. Hope you all enjoyed the trip.
I was excited to announce that Headspace will soon be offering services in Casino and the Richmond Valley recently.
This is a youth mental health service. It is important these services are widely offered in our region.
I also announced more funding for Indigenous Mental Health training and more funding for drug and alcohol rehabilitation for the Richmond Valley.
I’m looking forward to officially opening a new bridge on Duck Creek road Old Bonalbo next month.
The new bridge, which will officially be named McKees Bridge, replaces an old timber bridge built in 1929. The new concrete bridge was funded under the Government’s Bridge Renewal Program.
Last month the Government announced some great news for families.
We have removed the “cap” that limits the amount families can claim on childcare, and have also increased the rebate from 50% to 85%.
This will put money back into the pockets of families and were designed with the needs of regional communities in mind.
