It was the North Coast National Show Girl Presentation last Saturday night. What a wonderful evening – I don’t envy the judges role of picking winners.
Good luck to the six competing showgirls Georgia Matthews, Ashlee Tindall, Cassandra Keogh, Brooke Felsch, Janaya Everingham and Genevieve Wright, as well as Teen Showgirls Jazmin Eakin, Rachael Redman, Lucia Greene, Ella Robinson, Nicola Mckenzie, Casey Rucker, Holly Rankin and Taylor Small.
Whoever goes through to the next round will represent our region with pride. Looking forward to the Show next weekend.

It was great to see work start on the $3 million upgrade of Oakes Oval last week.
I secured half the money for this from the Federal Government. The remainder is coming from Council and the AFL.
The project includes an extension of the grandstand roof cover, expanding the on-field playing area to boost spectator capacity and make it suitable for AFL games, replacing the ground’s change rooms and visitor amenities and installing a new electronic scoreboard.
Oakes Oval will remain northern New South Wales’ premier sports facility capable of hosting AFL, Rugby League, Soccer, Rugby Union and Cricket matches.
Very happy to see local company Bennett Constructions doing the work.

Community members who have leukaemia or lymphoma patients will benefit from affordable access to the new drug Ibrutinib due to a Federal Government subsidy,
This new treatment will provide much needed support to patients who don’t respond to other initial treatments.
Ibrutinib (sold as Imbruvica®) would normally cost $187,390 on average per course of treatment, putting it beyond the reach of most patients.
From December, it will cost a maximum of $38.80 per treatment and just $6.30 for concessional patients.
