Last week I was joined by Senator Nigel Scullion to announce funding of $1.7 million to reduce family violence. This money will also support youths in our community. The funding will deliver a safe and trauma-informed service to reduce family violence. It will work with men to encourage behavioural change, including through cognitive behavioural therapy. The money will also provide services to address mental health, disengagement and anti-social behaviour.
The Lismore Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s Lismore Property Managers Business Excellence Awards were held on Saturday night. This month the First Home Super Saver Scheme came into effect. First home buyers will be able to save for a house deposit within their superannuation. People can now make voluntary contributions of up to $15,000 per year and $30,000 in total into their superannuation account.
