Clarence River U3A Men/Women’s Shed will get safer machinery to use, thanks to a Government grant, the Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan said.
“The Shed Committee came to me asking for assistance to purchase new machinery as they were concerned about the safety of the old equipment they have been using,” he said.
“I was happy to get them a grant of almost $10,000 which will be used to buy a range of equipment, including a new lathe, table saw and band saw.
“With about 70 members using the equipment every week, it is important that they can use it safely.”
Like Men’s Sheds across Australia, the Clarence River U3A Men/Women’s Shed, offers support to any locals who need a bit of space and some friendly, easy-going company.
