Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan said a Mental Health workshop to be held in Grafton next month will help identify the best way to roll-out services across the Clarence Valley.
“The Our Healthy Clarence Steering Committee has used the ideas from earlier community meetings and workshops to form a single action plan for improving wellbeing and mental health in the Clarence Valley,” he said.
“Next month’s workshop will continue that work and will help identify how we can achieve the Our Healthy Clarence Plan.”
The workshop is being run by the North Coast Primary Health Network.
“We have many good mental health services in the Clarence Valley. However, the community consultation process identified that many people were not aware of the current services,” Mr Hogan said.
“With the Federal Government rolling-out more Mental Health services, workshops like the one next month helps to ensure that the extra resources are allocated in the right places.”
Mr Hogan said community members, carers, doctors, mental health professionals, community-managed organisations, hospitals, emergency services and other interested people are all invited to attend the workshop at the Grafton District Services Club between 5pm and 7.30pm on December 12.
