I dropped in to see Sam Newman who recently opened Woopi Backpackers.
The Backpackers is a great addition, attracting more tourism to our town.
It offers accommodation for up to 61 people, a juice bar, meals, and eventually hopefully a licensed premise.
Great beach and surfing photos, including some of Sam’s dad and grandad adorn the walls.

The Woopi Red Cross have more members than any other branch in NSW.
I went to their AGM recently and had the pleasure of presenting some Service Award Medals.
I would like to thank awardees Joan McDonagh, Sue Whelan, Doreen Liddle, Kay Squires and Judy Boyle for the work they have done for our community.
Thank you also to the out-going executive and welcome to the incoming executive.
They are a wonderful service organisation and I thank them for the good they do in our community.
