Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan said tennis enthusiasts in Wooli will have access to upgraded courts and facilities when the Wooli Tennis Club reopens today.
“The club came to me asking for help to upgrade its facilities so more community members could use them more often,” he said.
“The upgrade of the two courts includes the installation of new synthetic playing surfaces, posts, nets and court lighting.
“For the first time, the Wooli community will be able to use the courts for social and competition night matches because of the installation of the new lighting.
“The completion of the courts upgrade has also resulted in the local school adopting tennis as part of its sports program.
“Sports are central to our regional communities like ours and our investment in the Wooli Tennis Club will bring families and friends together and promote a healthy lifestyle.
“This project is another example of the Government’s commitment to delivering infrastructure for regional communities to drive economic growth and create jobs.”
The $70,000 Wooli Tennis Court Upgrade project was fully funded by the Federal Government.
