Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan has welcomed the Nationals Senate team to the Northern Rivers today.
“This visit gave representatives from over 30 industry and community groups the chance to discuss their issues with Ministers and Senators” Kevin Hogan said.
Minister for Indigenous Affairs, Nigel Scullion met with local representatives from JLEP Indigenous Employment, Ngulingah Land Council, and Rekindling the Spirit, and along with Kevin Hogan hosted an Indigenous Leaders forum.
Minister for Rural Health Fiona Nash met representatives from the North Coast Area Health Services, and local GP trainers, to discuss changes to the way health services are provided.
“I believe is it incredibly valuable for the Ministers to hear directly from our community about how the government’s initiatives affect them” Kevin Hogan said
Victorian Senator Bridget Mckenzie, NSW Senator John Williams and QLD Senator Matt Canavan hosted industry specific meetings with the university, dairy, sugar, Macadamia and nut growers, Tea Tree and finance lenders.
“These meeting have allowed the industries most affected by red tape to sit down and let the government know areas they believe are over regulated, so that the we can address this during the next repeal day.” Kevin Hogan said.
