Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan today announced funding to upgrade the Lower Clarence Arts and Crafts Association’s Tea Room.
“The Tea Room provides an important meeting place for our local community.” Kevin Hogan said.
“The Association uses this room for many community programs. Activities like art workshops, demonstrations, exhibitions and meetings can now be held all year round.”
Around $8,000 will be provided to the club under the Stronger Communities Program. This funding will enable the roof to be insulated, improve airflow by changing window arrangements and improve the washroom facilities.
The grant is provided under the first round of the Stronger Communities programme.
Round 2 of the Stronger Communities Programme closes soon.
Under the program, community organisation can apply for grants of between $5,000 and $20,000 for capital works.
The organisation must match the funding in either cash or “in kind” donations.
If an organisation is interested in applying, they must submit their application by Friday,
April 8 and inform Mr Hogan’s office. Funding will be delivered from July 2016.
