Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan today announced a grant of $10,000 to the Woolgoolga Art Group to upgrade the Woolgoolga Art Gallery’s kitchen and bathroom.
“This is great news for the community and terrific news for the volunteers who have run the gallery for 40 years,” Mr Hogan said.
“The Gallery is one more reason for tourists to visit Woopi, as well as providing art classes and exhibitions for the enjoyment of locals.
“However, the building is in need of major work to ensure its viability and, in particular, so it can hold exhibition openings and allow other community groups to use the building for functions.
“I am happy that this grant allows that much-needed work to be done.”
Projects under the Stronger Communities Program, like this one, are selected by a community consultation committee that assist with identifying potential projects.
