Yamba Rotary Club built the bus stop on Yamba’s busy Gumnut Road over 25 years ago. The bus stop is no longer serviceable and was demolished last year.
Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan recently announced $9,730 to allow Rotary to build a new bus stop.
“Rotary are doing great work across the community and replacing this bus stop is another example of that,” Mr Hogan said.
“This serves school children and residents on the main bus route through Yamba.”
“It will have benches to sit on whilst waiting and provides shade and shelter from the weather.”
“It will also include a bench seat to suit a wheelchair space.”
This funding has been provided through the Round 6 of the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Programme.
