Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan today announced $2,048,312 to upgrade the Kyogle CBD.
“These upgrades will help to support existing businesses by encouraging the community to shop locally and drawing in more visitors.” Mr Hogan said.
“It will also provide spaces that can be utilised for a range of community events and gatherings.”
“Work will include landscaping improvements such as street trees and gardens, outdoor kerb side dining areas, new seating, recycling bins, and street furniture.”
“Traffic improvements will include a 40km/h pedestrian area, intersection improvements, cycling lanes and disabled parking spaces.”
The developments will start from the intersection at Wyangarie Street through to the intersection at Kyogle Road.
Kyogle Council Mayor Kylie Thomas welcomed the funding and said it will be a great development for the town.
“We can be very proud of what we have achieved in partnership with the Federal Government,” Cr Thomas said.
