Standing up for Regional Australia
Australia’s inflation is running far higher than other advanced economies at 3.8% and is expected to rise again. This increasing pressure on the Reserve Bank has hiked interest rates by 0.25 for the second time this year to 4.1%. This is the direct result of the Albanese Government’s economic mismanagement.
Shadow Assistant Treasurer Kevin Hogan said households and businesses are paying the price for Labor’s failures. “Labor’s spending and poor planning are pushing up prices and forcing interest rates higher,” Mr Hogan said.
“Families are already facing record cost-of-living pressures, higher mortgage repayments, higher rents, and higher costs on groceries.”
The Shadow Assistant Treasurer warned that without urgent government action, Australia’s situation will worsen. “Interest rates are rising because this government has left our economy exposed. Australia should be seeing stable prices and confidence, not households under strain and businesses unsure of the future,” Mr Hogan said.
“Labor needs to take responsibility for the economic mess they have created and start making real decisions to control spending and inflation, rather than leaving Australians to foot the bill.”
