Federal member for Page Kevin Hogan has delivered yet another election promise with the official opening of the newly renovated kitchen at the old Scout Hall at Evans Head.
As part of the 2013 election campaign, Mr Hogan promised that the government will renovated the dilapidated kitchen if elected. Today he fulfilled that promise.
“I’m very pleased to be here today to open this newly renovated kitchen,” Mr Hogan said.
“I visit here during the election campaign and promised to upgrade the kitchen which was being used by the community, but was sub-standard to what was needed.
“It is now a new community asset.”
The renovation will allow the expansion of Mid-Richmond Neighbourhood Centre’s programmes to embrace all things food.
The renovated kitchen, which meets Australian Food Safety standards, includes a new hot water system, child safety barricades, new refrigeration and stove, benches, cupboards, plumbing and electricals.
