Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan today announced a grant of almost $12,000 to the Northern United Rugby League Football Club.
The grant will allow the club to purchase equipment such as tackle bags, boxing gear, footballs and exercise equipment, as well as a trailer to transports tents and BBQs and electronic items such as a data projector and computer.
“This is great news for the community,” Mr Hogan said.
“Through sport, Northern United aims to promote community engagement, cohesion and well-being by delivering regular community-based and family friendly events.
“This equipment will allow the club to work with community groups through regular events and workshops.”
Projects under the Stronger Communities Program, like this one, are selected by a community consultation committee that assist with identifying potential projects.
