Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan today announced a grant of $5000 to Wollongbar Preschool for its Community Garden.
The grant will allow the preschool to install a new fence in its newly acquired piece of land.
“This is great news for the community,” Mr Hogan said.
“I would like to congratulate the teachers, parents and school community.
“The Preschool is in the process of establishing kitchen gardens and this new fence will give students safe access to the community garden grounds. The project will encourage the children’s interest in gardening and healthy eating.”
Projects under the Stronger Communities Program, like this one, are selected by a community consultation committee that assist with identifying potential projects.
