Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan today announced a grant of more than $11,000 for Woolgoolga Rugby League Club to upgrade facilities at its sportsground.
The upgrade will include new spectator seating and a digital scoreboard.
“This is great news for the community,” Mr Hogan said.
“The new seating and scoreboard are a much needed upgrade for the club’s facilities and will be utilised by other sports that also use the ground.
“This will be a valuable addition to the area and will promote an increase in spectators as well participants in sports.”
The Woolgoolga Sports Ground is the home ground of Woolgoolga Rugby League and is used by the local high school and five local primary schools.
Club secretary Paul Dwyer said the grant will “significantly improve our ability to present our game and sport.”
He said the digital scoreboard will be mounted on a trailer so that it can be used by a variety of community groups at different times to promote events and during times of emergency.
