Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan today announced a grant of more than $15,000 for new Grandstand seating at the Yamba Sports Rugby League Ground.
“This is great news for sport in our community,” he said.
“The grant will provide new Grandstand seating for about 200 spectators.”
President of the Lower Clarence Magpies Senior Club Bruce Howard said the grandstand seating has been needed for a long time.
“Previously the seniors and juniors had to play at different grounds. This grant means that the combined clubs while have a home base for the first time,” he said.
“Both clubs are growing strongly with many more families coming to watch the games and the new seating will encourage even more people to come along and support our clubs.”
The grant is from the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Programme. The Lower Clarence Magpies RLFC will match the funding.
