As Remembrance Day approaches this year, marking the centenary of the First World War Armistice, many people will remember the sacrifice the Maclean community made to end the war to end all wars, Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan said.
“It is important for our community to commemorate this day and remember all those who have served our nation over a century of service,” he said.
“To help the Maclean RSL sub-branch mark this occasion, I secured a grant of more than $3000 to refurbish a German Trach mortar and hold an exhibition displaying First World War memorabilia in the War Memorial precinct.
“We must never forget the sacrifices our diggers made for our nation and our community.”
