Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan has announced ongoing funding of more than $5.5 million for 77 Home Care places and 44 new residential Age Care beds across the Northern Rivers.
“This is great news for our ageing community and also great news for those looking for work.” Mr Hogan said. “Over 100 new jobs are going to be created due to this new funding.”
Crowley Care Services in Ballina will receive about $500,000 for 15 new Home Care places creating up to 15 new jobs.
St Andrews will receive $1.3 million for 34 Home Care places and Residential places and Integrated Living an additional 15 Home Care place. The remaining places are spread across Casino, Grafton and Maclean.
“These new Home Care places will help older members of our community to remain living in their own home for as long as possible – which is where they want to be,” Mr Hogan said.
Crowley Care Services chief executive Michael Penhey said the funding for 15 additional Home Care Level Four packages (the highest level) meant Ballina residents now had a wide range of options for Aged Care.
“More seniors in our region can now secure a broader range of subsidised home care from Crowley Care Services” said CEO Michael Penhey. “And that’s a good thing.”
“Our Home Care includes a very diverse range of support, from home maintenance, to help with tasks like dressing or preparing meals, to providing quality nursing care.
“Today we thank the Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan for his ongoing efforts and support in helping us secure these packages for our region’s seniors.”
Crowley’s high and low level care Home Care Services are designed around the individual needs of the person needing care in their home.
They assist seniors to remain as independent as possible, enabling them to continue to participate in the community, whilst living in the comfort of their own home.
The organisation also offers Veterans Home Care Services and a Mobile Meal Service.
