Federal Budget confirms Australians are going backwards
Australians are paying more, working harder, and falling further behind under the Albanese Government. This Budget is delivering higher taxes, more spending, more debt, and no plan to restore living standards.
Federal Member for Page, Kevin Hogan said the Budget confirms Labor is now the highest taxing Government in Australia’s history.
“Labor has broken a lot of their promises to Australians. The Prime Minister said over 50 times that he wouldn’t change negative gearing or the capital gains tax, yet in this budget he did.” Mr Hogan said.
Australians are already footing the bill for Labor’s excessive spending, their green energy ideology and their lies.
“The average Aussie mortgage is over $20,000 a year worse off while they already can’t afford to pay their grocery and energy bills.” Mr Hogan said.
Government spending remains at its highest level in 40 years outside of the pandemic. Australia has had its 15th interest rate rise since Labor came into government and Australians are continuing to suffer.
Budget Paper No. 1, page 158 stated that 35,000 fewer homes will be built than otherwise would have been.
“Labor’s budget states that 35,000 less homes will be built and rents are going to increase. Aussie living standards will continue to fall under this Labor government.” Mr Hogan said.
