Upgraded facilities at Coramba Sport and Recreation Grounds, including a women’s change room, will ensure it can be used by more members of the community, the Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan said inspecting the completed works following a Government grant.
“Coramba Sport and Recreation Grounds is home to the Orara Valley Axeman Senior and Junior Rugby League Clubs, and is the venue for Orara Valley School carnivals. It is also regularly used by the community as a venue for fundraising and community events,” he said.
“The Orara Valley Progress Association came to me asking for help to upgrade the Ground’s facilities to make it more accessible for people with disabilities and to accommodate the newly formed Women’s League Tag competition.
“I was happy to secure a Building Stronger Communities grant of $20,000 to help put their plans in place.
“The now upgraded of facilities includes amenities to make the showground more accessible for people with disabilities, a parents’ room, a referee change room and upgraded change areas for the Women’s League Tag team.”
President of the Orara Valley Progress Association Stephanie Luck said: “The upgrade of the facilities has made a terrific difference for the families using our grounds.”
