Regional Express (Rex) has announced it will restart regional services in Grafton, Lismore and Ballina. This is due to the Regional Airline Network Support (RANS) program, funded by the Federal Government.
Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan said the program provides assistance to maintain a minimal weekly schedule to regional areas.
“Rex was eligible to receive funding to operate 2-3 return services a week to all destinations on the Rex network.” Mr Hogan said.
“This includes 3 return services to Grafton and Lismore and 2 return services to Ballina.”
“These flights will ensure essential air links to the capital cities for medical, professional and other essential travel needs.”
“Without Federal Government funding, many regional communities would risk not having any air services at all for at least six months.”
