North Coast Local Land Services in partnership with Women on the Land would like to hold new workshops in our community. They would focus on assisting rural women with farm management.
Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan today announced $21,700 for these programs to be run across our community.
“These workshops will specifically look at sustainable farm management and recovering from natural disasters,” Mr Hogan said.
“It will empower rural women and show the benefits of making sustainable decisions for their families, their farms and the farm businesses. “
“North Coast Local Land Service in partnership with Women on the Land will be delivering this project over two years.”
North Coast Local Land Services General Manager Louise Orr welcomed the funding and is looking forward to the workshops.
“This project aims to empower women to take ownership of not just their personal welfare but their farm and farm business welfare in the event of a natural disaster,” Mrs Orr said.
“This will help build more resilient farms and more resilient communities in the face of an increasingly variable climate.”
