Nana Glen was devastated by the recent bushfires. Many homes were destroyed, and livelihoods were shattered. It is an incredibly resilient community.
Coffs Harbour City Council received over $1.3 million in Federal Government grants to assist with bushfire recovery. Council has used this to upgrade important community assets.
$70,000 has been allocated for solar panels and air-conditioning at Nana Glen Memorial Hall. The Hall also received $9,000 from the Stronger Communities Programs for a new awning.
Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan said the funds have been provided to assist with the local-led recovery efforts.
“The recent bushfires devastated our community and it is important we rebuild together,” Mr Hogan said.
“Community halls are a crucial part of communities, especially in Nana Glen.”
“By installing solar panels, air-conditioning and a new awning, it ensures the life of this important building.”
“This funding is on top of funding Council received to replace damaged infrastructure.”
