Maclean Netball Court upgrades officially complete
The new Maclean Netball Courts are officially open, delivering a major boost for community sport in the Lower Clarence.
The $1.29 million redevelopment transformed the ageing facility into a modern six-court complex, complete with new 200 Lux LED lighting and upgraded infrastructure, ready for the winter netball season.
Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan said the project will benefit local players, families and volunteers for many years to come.
“This is a fantastic outcome for the Lower Clarence community. The new courts will create more opportunities for local players to participate in sport, stay active and connected to their community.”
The upgraded courts will provide local players, families and volunteers with a safer, more modern facility capable of hosting local and regional competitions, as well as high-level training opportunities.
The project was funded through the Australian Government’s Play Our Way Program in partnership with Clarence Valley Council and the Lower Clarence Netball Association.
“Netball is an important community sport locally, and these upgraded facilities will enable the Lower Clarence Netball Association to continue to grow and attract more players, competitions and community events into the future.”
