This Christmas, many will be forced to cut back on celebrations and essentials. Australians are being hit hard by the harsh realities of rising costs under the Albanese Labor Government.
Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan said families are struggling to make ends meet under Labor.
“Living standards have fallen by a record 8.7% since the election, leaving the average family $35,000 worse off,” Mr Hogan said.
“GDP per capita has gone backwards for seven consecutive quarters – the longest household recession on record.”
“Under Labor’s watch, mortgage interest payments have tripled. Prices for everyday essentials have skyrocketed: gas is up 32%, electricity is up 31%, rents are up 16%, and food is up 12%.”
“Families are paying the price for Labor’s failure to manage the economy. These aren’t just numbers – they represent the sacrifices families are making every day.”
“Christmas should be a time to relax and enjoy family, not a time to worry about how you’ll pay the next bill. It’s time Labor got its priorities right and focused on real solutions to ease the burden on Australians.”
