Rural health students now have better access to accommodation, with The University Centre for Rural Health’s recently renovated Maclean property ready for use, the Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan said.
“The house provides short term accommodation for students from a range of universities who are placed in UCRH placement programs in aged care and schools in this area.”
“This house was originally a 4 bedroom dwelling with an extra 2 bedrooms added by local builders Tony McFarland TKMAC Building and local contractors,”
“It will be used predominately for allied health students in short term placements ranging from 6 to 12 weeks,”
“Each room contains single bed, wardrobe, high speed internet access and study desks. Common facilities for all students include fully equipped kitchen, dining room, lounge room, laundry, decks front and back with views of the Clarence River from the front deck.”
“Since opening, the house has had 100% occupancy with students reporting high levels of satisfaction with the facility.”
Students from University of Sydney who recently finished their placement dubbed the house the “Maclean Mansion”.
