The families of four children who were tragically killed by a drunk and drugged driver have launched an annual forgiveness day.
Siblings Antony, Angelina and Sienna Abdallah and their cousin Veronique Sakr were killed in February last year when an out-of-control ute mounted the footpath.
The two families have taken the extraordinary step of forgiving the man behind the wheel and have initiated that the anniversary of the deaths become National i4give Day.
Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan said this is remarkable thing to be able to do.
“Through this darkness and unbelievable pain, the families have chosen ongoing forgiveness to mark every anniversary going forward, honouring their children in this beautiful and positive way,” Mr Hogan said.
“i4give Day is tomorrow, February 1st and will a held on this day every year.”
“This day is about honouring Antony, Angelina, Sienna and Veronique. Their families have shown amazing strength through such a terrible tragedy.”
A website i4give.com has been launched where people will be directed to links dealing with grief and trauma counselling.
