Funding boost for South Grafton Sports and Recreational Club
Accessibility upgrades at the South Grafton Sports and Recreational Club have now been completed, following $20,000 in funding delivered through Round 9 of the Stronger Communities Programme.
The new disability amenities at the club make the facility more accessible and inclusive for people with a disability and ensure all members of the community can comfortably use the venue.
Federal Member for Page, Kevin Hogan MP, said the project is a strong example of how local grants can deliver lasting benefits for communities.
“Community clubs like the South Grafton Sports and Recreational Club are important social hubs, and these upgrades ensure no one is excluded from participating because of access barriers.”
Mr Hogan said the Stronger Communities Programme focuses on practical projects that improve everyday life in local communities.
“These are exactly the kinds of projects this program is designed for- sensible, local improvements that make a real difference,” he said.
The South Grafton Sports and Recreational Club is used by sporting groups, volunteers and families across the region, and the upgrades will help ensure the facility continues to meet community needs into the future.
Mr Hogan congratulated the club committee and volunteers on delivering the project.
“This is a great outcome for South Grafton and a credit to the volunteers who work hard to keep the club running for the benefit of the whole community,” Mr Hogan said.
