Farrell Should Walk Away From EU Deal
Shadow Minister for Trade and Tourism, the Hon Kevin Hogan MP has called on the Australian government to walk away from the European trade deal if it doesn’t deliver for our farmers.
“Reports are we have been offered quotas for beef, sheep and sugar that are not good enough,” Mr Hogan said.
“We also look like we may lose the right to use names like parmesan feta, and prosecco to new market entrants.
“The EU are also looking to put conditions on grain fed beef which don’t work for our farming practices.
“This is a real test for the Labor government. The European Union are desperate for our critical minerals. Labor needs to do a good deal for our farmers.
“If not, they should walk away from the deal.“
