Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan has held his annual School Leaders event in Grafton, with over 300 students, parents, and teachers. The event recognises the important role of school leaders in our local school communities.
“This is a great opportunity to celebrate the leadership, responsibility and pride our young people show in their schools,” Mr Hogan said.
This year’s guest speaker was Troy Cassar-Daley, an iconic figure in Australian country music with a career spanning over 30 years.
“Raised in the Clarence Valley, Troy shared stories of his upbringing, his passion for music, and the values of hard work and respect.”
“Troy is not only a household name in country music, he’s also a proud local. His words were heartfelt and honest, and I could see how much they meant to the students in the room.”
“I want to acknowledge the teachers, mums, dads, carers, and grandparents who took time to come along and support these young leaders. Our community is stronger because of the encouragement and guidance they provide.”
“The future is in good hands.”
Each school across the region received an invitation to pass on to their Student Representative Councils and elected student leaders.
