Celebrating our Local School Leaders
Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan has held his annual School Leaders event in Lismore, bringing together hundreds of students, parents, and teachers to recognise the important role young leaders play in our school communities.
“This is a great opportunity to celebrate the leadership, responsibility and pride our young people show in their schools,” Mr Hogan said.
This year’s guest speaker was Scott Jones, a local whose career and life story has been shaped by resilience and determination.
“Scott shared his journey from growing up in regional communities to leading major local venues, including his current role at the Lismore Turf Club,” Mr Hogan said.
“In 2017, Scott survived a devastating gas explosion that left him with severe injuries and a long recovery. His story is one of resilience, gratitude, and the strength of community support.”
“His message about perseverance, leadership and not taking opportunities for granted really resonated with the students in the room.”
Mr Hogan also acknowledged the families and educators who continue to support the region’s young leaders.
“I want to thank the parents, grandparents, carers and teachers who are there every step of the way. Your support makes all the difference.”
