Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan announced $17,371 for Casino High School last year. They needed a commercial 10 tray Combi Oven for the canteen, which has now been purchased and is in operation.
“Many students were not having an adequate breakfast or nutritious food during the day, which leads to poor attention in class,” Mr Hogan said.
“Great to see the new oven now up and running.”
“Students have said they would buy a hot lunch on a daily basis if it was available, with a Combi Oven the Canteens volunteers can prepare 200 meals easily.”
“A daily hot lunch is essential for their physical, emotional and educational wellbeing.”
The Local Schools Community Fund is open to all schools but eligibility conditions will apply. Schools were able to lodge one application for each of their campuses. For future rounds, visit https://schools.education.gov.au/ to apply.
