Students at St Andrew’s Christian School who have a disability will soon have improved access to learning areas after being named a recipient of $59,000 Federal Government grant.
The grant, awarded as part of the Capital Grants Programme (CGP), will go towards the construction of a covered area, accessible toilet and provision of drinking water at the school oval. The school contributed $5000 to the works.
Federal member for Page Kevin Hogan said St Andrew’s Christian School was a worthy recipient, and that it will help the school community improve the overall learning experience for students with a disability.
“The Federal Government is dedicated to ensuring all Australian students have the infrastructure necessary to help them get the most out of their classroom learning,” he said.
“The Government believes in an education system that puts students first. A quality education gives young people the opportunity to achieve personal success and contribute to our nation.
“The staff and supporting community at St Andrew’s Christian School have clearly shown they are committed to enhancing the academic opportunities for their students.”
Senator the Hon Scott Ryan, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Education, said the CGP provides funding for non-government schools to improve capital infrastructure where they otherwise many not have access to sufficient resources.
