Federal member for Page Kevin Hogan has announced that Lismore City Council has been successful in the first round of the Federal Government’s $300 million Bridges Renewal Project.
Lismore City Council will receive a grant of $875,000 to build 200 metres of new road and a new bridge over Hollingsworth Creek in the South Lismore Industrial Park.
“This is the first of multiple rounds under the programme and is great news for Lismore,” Mr Hogan said. “The injection of $875,000 to build this local bridge will make using it safer and more reliable, while also being a huge fillip for freight providing major benefits for the community and the region.
“In particular, this programme will improve road access for local traffic and increase efficiency on local roads, which will be a relief to all of us.”
“I congratulate Lismore Council on their successful application.”
