Marine Rescue Woolgoolga provides radio contact and rescue services for local mariners in the event of an emergency.
They needed funding to help volunteers pay for travel to training, rescues and radio shifts.
Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan has announced funding for the club to assist in travel expenses.
“Marine Rescue Woolgoolga is an integral part of keeping our community safe on the water.” Mr Hogan said.
“This funding will ensure volunteers will not have travel expenses when travelling to rescues and training.”
“Volunteers are central to so many local organisations and provide important services in our community.”
“It is important to support the efforts of these organisations and the individuals that allow them to function.”
This funding was provided through the Federal Government’s Volunteer Grants program. For more information go to: https://www.communitygrants.gov.au/grants/volunteer-grants-activity-2021-volunteer-grants
