A fit-out of Yamba Football Club’s Clubhouse, made possible by a Federal Government grant of more than $5200, will allow more local groups to use its facilities, the Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan said.
“Yamba Football Club has a strong focus on the social nature of football and encourages community inclusion,” he said.
“It has been working with other groups that use the clubhouse, such as touch football, crochet and the dog school, to improve its facilities.
“The club came to me asking for assistance. I was happy to organise this grant to upgrade the Clubhouse so it can be better used by more sporting groups.
“The Clubhouse fit-out includes new junior goalposts to improve safety, audio visual equipment, a coffee machine, a ‘history wall’ and heating.”
The Club’s Vice-President Dan Griffin welcomed the grant announcement.
“The Clubhouse fit-out aims to create an inclusive space that is welcoming and reflective of the culture that has been developed around out local sporting organisations,” he said.
“The project will also strengthen our ties with young people and also assist in the development of female participation.”
