THE Richmond River Historical Society will receive $1500 to go towards its operating costs under the Federal Government’s Grants to Voluntary Environment, Sustainability and Heritage Organisations (GVESHO).
“The dedicated volunteers from the Richmond River Historical Society have built up an extensive collection that tells the history of our region and has won countless awards for their efforts,” Mr Hogan said.
“Instead on wasting their efforts selling raffle tickets to raise money for the society’s day-to-day administration bills, this grant allow the volunteers to get on with doing what they do best – telling our story.”
“GVESHO supports eligible community-based, not-for-profit organisations by providing assistance with ongoing administrative costs such as volunteer training, paying phone bills or buying a new computer.”
